TIPS FOR SELLING YOUR CAR
1. A picture is worth a thousand words. We post photos of every vehicle on our website, where they are on display to the entire world. If you are serious about selling your vehicle, we need good pictures to promote it. Digital photos are the best, you can send them to us by email and we can post them on our website almost immediately, but regular snap shots can be scanned and put on the website as well. Please provide several shots of the exterior (front, both sides, back, close-ups of interesting features or rust holes or damage), plus a couple of the interior, under the hood and in the trunk. Detail shots of things like the wheels, instrument panel or underside should be included too, as these help to show the condition of the entire vehicle.
2. Be honest in your description.
3. Don’t mention anything that you can not document. If you have supporting documentation that helps describe your vehicle’s strong points, be sure to bring this to the auction to show prospective buyers. This includes receipts for new parts, restoration or repair work; original sales documents or proof of past owners or past use; independent insurance appraisal reports; historical photos, etc.
4. Your car should be spotless and have any extras that will be sold with the vehicle displayed with the vehicle.
5. Check back to your vehicle regularly for interested buyers to answer their questions, start engine, work electronics, etc.
6. Use the reserve bid as insurance only. Research the value of similar vehicles on the internet, Old Car Trader, Hemmings, etc. to determine a fair reserve price.
7. Be positive that your battery works well. Buy a new one if necessary.
8. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel to move around the Auction site as required.
9. You are required to drive your own car through the ring or have a friend drive it for you. We will provide a driver at a cost of $25 should you prefer.
10. You should keep your vehicle insured until you have received payment in full after the sale. The Auction does not insure the vehicles entered.
